Getting Started

Pariah is a facial-recognition security platform for retail and commercial venues. It pairs cloud software with on-premises hardware: continuous recognition runs locally on your site, while management, search, alerting, and analytics happen from anywhere.

The moving parts

Recognition runs on-site

Continuous detection happens on your premises, on the NVR client. Your camera feeds are processed locally and your footage stays on your site, which keeps cloud exposure — and cost — low. Cloud search is used only for one-off manual lookups from the mobile app.

First run

Onboarding walks you through it in order:

  1. Account — create your operator account and verify your company.
  2. Plan — choose a subscription tier.
  3. Hardware — order a Pariah NVR kit and cameras, or bring your own.
  4. Deploy — set up your first site.
  5. Intel (optional) — decide whether to join the Pariah Intel network.
  6. Legal — review and accept the Terms, DPA, and Acceptable Use Policy.
  7. Activate — confirm and start your trial.

The optional steps can be skipped and finished later from the dashboard.

Once you're in, the usual next steps are: connect the NVR and your cameras, enrol your first profiles, and invite your team.

Before you go live

Facial recognition is heavily regulated in the UK. You are the data controller and must have a lawful basis, a completed DPIA, and clear signage in place before processing anyone. See Compliance.
